There's nothing quite like live music. The anticipation before the first note, the energy of the crowd, the lights cutting through the darkness, and those incredible moments when the musicians and audience become one.
As a photographer and lifelong music lover, I've always been drawn to the spontaneity and emotion of live performances. I've had the opportunity to photograph countless shows, including many at Colorado's legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre. I have a particular passion for jam bands, where improvisation and the connection between musicians make every performance completely unique. No two shows are ever the same, and that's what makes capturing them so special.
For me, concert photography is about more than documenting who's on stage. It's about anticipating the unexpected, finding beauty in the chaos, and capturing the little moments that tell the bigger story. A musician lost in the music, an exchange between bandmates, a sea of fans illuminated by the stage. Those are the images that bring the experience back long after the final encore.
